A purple turtle
In a tree
How could such
A strange thing be?
Strange to me
And strange to you
And stranger still
To the turtle who
Never thought that
He would be there
Wondering if
Someone would care
Enough to kindly
Help him down
(For turtles should be
On the ground)
And maybe wash
The paint away
(A turtle shouldn't
Purple stay)

So someday if you
Happen to see
A purple turtle
In a tree
I hope you'll know
Just what to do
'Cause purple turtles
Need friends too!
